Breed: Huntaway Cross Visits: Elmswood Retirement Village in Christchurch. Nero was adopted from Second Chance Dog Rescue when he was just 12 weeks old. His favourite activity is swimming – he LOVES the water! Nero joined CFPT in May 2017.

Newton joined Canine Friends in Dec 2015. Newton loves to visit his friends at Bucklands Beach Rest Home and the residents are always happy to see him too! Newton enjoys to sit on the couch with the residents and watch the boats sail by, watch television and do crossword puzzles!

Shadow is from Taranaki. He visits Rhapsody Lifecare home. He loves his visits and the residents are enjoying him too. And yes, he only has 3 legs!

Visits: Kenpuru Geriatric Ward Loves: Cuddles on the couch, the beach, the park - anywhere we can have a run and a play with my black and white sister Lexi.

Poppy is a 3 year old Dachshund. She visits Emmerson House in Porirua every second week. She also visit the ABI Rehabilitation on the weeks she is not at Emmerson.

Poppy is a Bischon + Shih Tzu + Poodle mix. She has a beautiful nature and big personality and loves people and other animals. She and her mum Karen visit the lovely folk at the Brightwater Rest Home in Palmerston North and have made some great friends. We look forward to our visits and making people smile.

Ollie is a Schnauzer/Shih Tzu cross and is the new dog for Annie Dunlop - our Acting President and Fundraising Manager. Ollie has just turned one and has started visiting Sprott House in Wellington.

Favourite things: Playing with tennis balls, butting in when my sister Tawnee is getting a cuddle, making holes in dad's lawn. visits: St Joseph 's Home Of Compassion and Summerset Retirement Village

Visits : Radius St Helena's Care Centre Recreation : Goes Roller blading with Pam and enjoys catching up with other dog friends at the beach.

Favourite things: walkies, walkies, walkies- and chasing sticks and balls visits: Kowhainui Home in Wanganui

Visits: Elderslea Lodge and Rest Home, Upper Hutt. Favourite things: food, hanging around while Mum is cooking, playing with my poodle play date Toby, food, sniffing things, walkies, digging holes in Dad's lawn and stealing things out of his tool bag ... food!

Favourite things: A little teal teddy with a funny squeaker. Playing in the park with lots of doggie friends and swimming in Lake Taupo. visits: Ropata Retirement Village.

Favourite things: Lots of walkies round Trentham, will appear by magic when pots are being scraped or lunches being made even if the dog biscuits have not been finished. visits: Fergusson Home at Upper Hutt.

Favourite things: squeaky toys preferably soft ones so I can floss while squeaking; chasing and retrieving tennis balls; swimming in the river.

Favourite things: food, playing in water and children…in that order! Visits: Churtonleigh Rest Home where she is a big hit with staff and residents
