Pooch Cookies

The following recipe has been sent in by member Jean Barr who makes these for her dog and even enjoys the odd one herself!

Pooch cookies

2 cups of whole wheat flour

1 cup of white flour

1 cup of rolled oats

2 tsp of baking powder

1 tbsp of manuka honey

1 cup of peanut butter

1 cup of milk powder

1 tsp of salt

2 tbsp flaky savoury yeast

Add enough water to mix the ingredients into a cookie-type dough with your hands. Knead well and roll out into thin sheets. Cut into whatever shapes you think your dog will fancy and bake in a medium oven until crispy.

Note: just like people, some dogs may be intolerant of dairy or gluten products and/or peanut butter. You can replace the milk powder with a cup of olive or sunflower oil, white flour with rice flour and replace the peanut butter with tahini (sesame paste).
