Dogs at Bunnings Family Fun Day
Summer may have been late arriving in the Capital this year however Mother Nature knew how to turn on a beautiful day for the Porirua Bunnings Family Fun Day 2017.
The gazebo was erected at the back of the car park with a view over Porirua out to the harbor. There was very little wind as Madison and Rafa enjoyed their dog cookies and a slurp of ice cold water. They were soon joined by Amber who took great interest in checking out the area behind the fence where the Bunnings team members often take their breaks. She was obviously making make sure that they had eaten all their lunches. Next to arrive was the cool dude Fyn who was completely unfazed by all the activity going on around our stall.Little Misses Milly and Poppy made up for their shortage in stature by being as cute as buttons and very cuddly.
Blue’s mum called by (minus Blue) to meet everyone and lastly but by no means least Bosco arrived to check out what all the fuss was about.
Our stall was perfectly positioned next to the face painting stall and we had a clear view of Christian Cullen assisting young prospective sports players in their tennis ball throwing techniques.
Many children dropped by after their ride on the tractor-drawn ride or while waiting for the face painting for lots of kisses and cuddles with the canines and some people seemed to not want to leave and got down on the ground with the dogs.
Madison showed off her two new collars – one with plenty of BLING and the other a tartan ensemble.
All good things must come to an end and eventually it was time to disassemble the gazebo and store everything in the car for the trip home. But where was Bosco? He was having a conversation with the rabbits from the Petting Zoo telling them about the wonderful people he gets to visit and the delicious cookies his dad was taking home.
Some tired pooches and volunteers. Thanks to everyone for their support.
